The purpose of the Lumpkin County School System (LCSS) is to Lead all Children to Success.

Student learning and achievement must be paramount

- We must continuously maintain high expectations for all students and for ourselves

- Our leaders must possess integrity, adhering to the highest professional, ethical, and moral standards
- Our educators must be innovative leaders using research-based best practices in leadership and school improvement to create high performing schools at all levels

- Our schools must be environments that foster creative and innovative thinking by students and educators
- Student learning, achievement, and wellness require strong and constructive collaboration between schools, homes, and community
- Effective communication creates a climate of unity and teamwork
- Our schools must be safe, secure, and clean learning environments for everyone

As the mission and core values are met, all students will:
- Achieve at levels exceeding state and national standards (rank in the top 10 percent of school systems in the nation on student achievement, student attendance, and school completion)
- Graduate high school prepared for post-secondary educational and work opportunities
- Demonstrate higher order/critical thinking skills and individual/collaborative problem solving skills to adapt to a changing world
- Develop academically, athletically, and artistically as part of a well-rounded education

Provide efficient stewardship of our human, financial, and material resources
- Indicator 5- Meet 100% of Department of Education expenditure test requirements
- Indicator 6- Maintain a healthy general fund balance without exceeding the 15% maximum under the O.C.G.A. 20-2-167
- Indicator 7- Operate within the established budget
- Indicator 8- Develop cost-cutting contingency plan
- Indicator 9- Train 100% of staff on safety measures
Forge strong and constructive ties between the schools, school system, and community
- Indicator 10- Conduct two Town Hall Meetings per school
- Indicator 11- Establish a system-wide parent survey to establish baseline data
- Indicator 12- Establish a fundamental system-wide parent two-way communication model
